Goodbye Magic of Disney Animation....
Today is a sad day at Hollywood Studios because it is losing one of its oldest attractions... The Magic of Disney Animation. I thought since is closes today I would give share some quick facts about the building and what it includes.
The Magic of Disney Animation building opened in November 2013. The building was home to many different attractions including...
- Where Characters Come From - 9 minute film about the creation of Disney's animated characters. This film takes you being the scenes of various animated film.
- Animation Academy - A Disney artist shows you how to draw your very own Disney sketch.
- You're a Character - In this booth, you can visit with Lumiere (of Beauty and the Beast fame), who will ask you a series of questions and tell you which Disney character you are most like.
- Digital Ink and Paint - At these workstations you can add color to an animated scene, and create your own atmosphere.
- The Sound Stage - In this hands-on activity, young animators can play with various sound effects and create their own soundtrack for an animated scene.
- Character Meet and Greets - Characters at time of closing includes Minnie Mouse, Sorcerer Mickey, Baymax and Hiro, and Mr. Incredible and Frozone.
- Animation Gallery Shop - On display are copies of the Academy Awards won by Disney animators, along with drawing from famous films. Animation cels, books, and other collectibles are also for sale here.
Inside the building are the former production facilities of Walt Disney Animation Orlando. Some of its productions include:

The attraction will close permanently after today's last drawing class. There was no word on what would happen to the building and the animators but Disney has stated that work is already in progress for the building.
